Actor Tamannaah Bhatia reminds one of the many fiery dance sequences and lively characters that she has portrayed onscreen. Busy juggling projects in Bollywood and the Tamil and Telugu industries, she says her strength is that she can easily adapt to any character.

Tamannaah dons an interesting role in the just released 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya', opposite Sonu Sood and Prabhu Deva, and has also appeared in a special song in the Kannada-Telugu bilingual 'Jaguar'. In an interview with Nina C George, she talks about her journey.

You had to portray varied emotions in 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya'...

As an actor, I've always wanted to try many roles and experiment with different characters. I make a conscious effort to choose projects that give me the liberty to explore the actor in me. Since the movie was made in three languages, the emotions were very challenging to portray.

Tell us about your character in the movie.

I had to don the role of a village belle and I drew inspiration after watching one of actor Revathi's earlier films. The idea was to portray a girl from the rural belt who was beautiful, likeable, yet shrewd. We've managed to strike that balance in my character.

On working with Prabhu Deva and Sonu Sood...

This was my first time working with Prabhu Deva. I've always admired the way he seamlessly juggles his roles as an actor, director and a choreographer. His comic timing is amazing and I think he needs to act more because he's a real treat to watch. Sonu and I have worked together in 'Entertainment' and I think he's a very disciplined actor.

You appear in a special song in 'Jaguar' which is made in Telugu and Kannada...

People may underestimate the need for a special song. But I enjoy being a part of them. These are meant for a mass audience and draws a good crowd.

How has your career changed after 'Bahubali'?

The kind of roles that are coming my way has changed after 'Bahubali.' Nobody expected me to essay the role of a warrior princess. By working in it, I managed to break free of the dainty image.

What's your mantra to staying fit?

I work out whenever I can, not only to stay fit and be in good shape but to feel good as well. As actors, we have to be strong enough to keep pace with hectic schedules.

What keeps you going?

My work prepares me to face the challenges that come my way. Sometimes, my work schedules are beyond me but I enjoy what I do and that makes all the difference.

Any actor or director you wish to work with?

I am looking forward to working with new actors and directors because they bring a fresh perspectives into everything.
