She has been a part of reality television and donned different hats as an actor on the big screen. But Sophie Choudry says performing live shows and taking up quality work have remained her priority. She has been busy travelling to promote and popularise her new single 'Sajan Main Nachungi', the theme of which is a hen party. She says that she was inspired to make the single after her close friend Bipasha Basu's wedding.

It has already crossed five million views on YouTube. Sophie says the hard work, pleasure and returns she's getting from her single is unmatched. In an interview with Nina C George, the actor talks about her life and work.

Tell us about your new single.
My earlier work has taught me that singles do better than albums. My latest single is something that has been made for the festive season. It's perfect for weddings. New beats with a fresh twist always excite people, especially youngsters.

Your tag of being a pop diva...
I know what it's like to compose, produce and mix an original piece of work. Today, everyone is Bollywood obsessed. What we largely see in Bollywood today is pop music. Musicians are moving back in time. Pop is here to stay.

I've never been a part of the rat race. Ihave always believed in working in my own space and doing those things that I enjoy working on. Overexposing oneself doesn't necessarily make one popular. Consistency and choosing good work can take one a long way. I am flooded with messages on social media asking me what I am working on next. It's nice to know that people are curious about what I am doing.

How do you keep pace with change?
We live in a digital era and technology is changing at a very fast pace. I try to keep my work relevant to the changing times and keep reinventing myself. This

How do you stay fit?

Punjabis love their food and I am no different. I don't believe in sticking to a diet because eating healthy and staying fit are a part of my routine. Contrary to the popular image, I don't party or stay out late. I prefer spending my free time with family.

How do you deal with disappointments?
In the show business, the highs and lows are at an extreme level. It's not easy to bounce back but my family keeps me grounded and
on track. I don't get stuck in negativity.

What kind of projects excite you?
I don't believe in working in a typical Bollywood film but prefer to work on those that have different subjects. For instance, a film like 'Pink' would definitely interest me because it deals with issues that are relevant to our times. I feel some of the series on
