In a candid chat with TiniSara Anien, she talks about the show and the experience of being a presenter.
How did the show happen?
I bumped into the 'Saavn' team in the valet parking of a restaurant. They found me witty and instantly suggested the possibility of a show with me as the host. They asked me to get back with a pitch and voila, here we have the show!
What is #NoFilterNeha all about?
I've always been a fan of simple ideas. I have a lot of good friends in different fields and I wanted a show about things that people had not heard of before. Thus came #NoFilterNeha, a simple, unfiltered show.
The challenges you faced...
The biggest challenge is to get the best and the wittiest answers out of one's friends, while protecting and respecting them. One is walking a really thin line and that is what makes the show exciting. I have also launched my own banner 'Big Girl Productions' with this show and I feel responsible for everything that happens on screen.
How different is it to present a show?
Everyone's doing it now. Farah has her own show, Anupam Kher has one and so does Karan Johar. It's not that hard. After the first two questions, when you and the guest get comfortable, it becomes easier.
Who all will be seen on the show?
The show will see interesting profiles of my friends in various arenas like movies, sports, music and literature. This will include Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Yuvraj Singh, Vishal Dadlani,​ Chetan Bhagat, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anurag Kashyap.
How was the episode with Karan Johar?
We launched the show with him and Karan was there because he is a beautiful storyteller. I know him personally and the best part about him is that he can make anything sound interesting.
Some things about the guests who will be seen on the show...
(Smiles) If I had to list out — Anurag was very open, Chetan always speaks his mind, Ranbir was a heartthrob and Sonam was fantastic. Everyone was a joy to be with and I am glad I had each one on the show.
Given a choice, who else would you want to host?
At some point, I want to talk to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan on the show. Salman is an unpredictable guy, he can say anything and he's very funny. On the other hand, Shah Rukh has the gift of the gab. I could retire from the show once I interview these people (laughs).
What are you looking forward to on the show?
Just wit and humour. It's not a gossip show and we don't want to know who is in a relationship with whom. I've even edited out parts that sounded like gossip. It's a battle of wit and humour.
What other projects will you be seen in?
I will be seen in the thriller 'Moh Maya Money' opposite Ranvir Shorey soon. I have worked with him earlier but this was very different. I might also be seen in the next season of 'Roadies'.
Of the movies you've done, which do you hold dearest to you?
Each one was fantastic. 'Mithya' and 'Chup Chup Ke' among many are close to my heart.
The irectors you want to work with...
I haven't had the opportunity to work with Imtiaz Ali, Neeraj Pandey and Rajkumar Hirani. It would be great to work with them.
