The season finale of 'MTVSplitsvilla 9', out recently, hailed Kavya Khurana and Gurmeet Singh Rehal the winners of the series.

Following many battles with fellow contestants, the two rose to victory in the kingdom of love, with the theme 'Where Women Rule'.

The couple share their experiences and fun memories of the show with Anila Kurian.

Your favourite memory from the show.

Kavya: The time I won the Queen's throne from another contestant, Mia. During the task, Iwasn't sure I was going to win. Just when the second round was going to start, I gave myself a pep talk about not giving up. Gurmeet was also a great help.

Gurmeet: When I first started talking to Kavya on the show, she told me she wanted to become the Queen and win the show. When Iwas dumped in one of the episodes, Isaw her cry. It made me happy knowing that she genuinely wanted to win the show with it.

A bizarre memory? Gurmeet: When the princesses were introduced the on the show, Icould see Nick (another contestant) and Kavya hitting off quite well. When it was time for the first task and we had to pick a partner, Kavya chose Nick and then me. She said, "I'm choosing Gurmeet because Iknow he is physically strong, but I think Nick is mentally stronger". Ifound that statement weird.

Kavya: I found it extremely weird when some girls would make false allegations. They would fight for no reason. Being the person I am, Icouldn't take what was being said about me.

What are your plans now?

Kavya: Anchoring and being a VJhave always been my priority. I also want to involve myself in music —either by singing or learning to play an instrument. Acting would come after I've accomplished the first two.

Gurmeet:I've been part of theatre, so acting has always been my preference. I want to try my hand at Bollywood. Since I started my career with 'Fear Factor', it would be a dream come true if Icould host it one day. Right now, I'm taking theatre workshops.

How do you spend your free time?

Kavya:It's very rare that I am free. When I do, I sleep.
Gurmeet: I like working out in a park. I also like to play the flute or be part of jamming sessions. I enjoy reading books as well. If I have extra time, I sleep.

The one thing you cannot travel without...

Kavya: Icarry a stole or shrug with me; I feel very cold on flights. Sanitiser is also a must.
Gurmeet:No matter where I go and what occasion it is, a white sneakers are a must.

If you could be stuck in a musical era, which one would it be?

Kavya:Anywhere in the 2000s when the stars like Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai made their mark in the industry.

Gurmeet:I would prefer the 2000s as well since I connect more to that time period. Iused to make music tapes and give it to the girl I was with back then.

A movie you'd like to act, given a chance.

Gurmeet: I'd like to play either Aamir Khan or Sharman Joshi in 'Rang de Basanti'.
Kavya: Priyanka Chopra in 'Dostana'. But if my acting skills and determination are as strong as hers, I would also play her in 'Mary Kom'.
